Dear Maizah // 6 Months

And just like that, you're half a year old. This will probably never mean as much to you as it does to me. After all, God willing, you're going to turn 5, 13, 16, 21 which will be major birthdays for you, but getting to be your mom for the last 6 months has been the biggest blessing in my life.

Honestly, I'm just so happy that me and your daddy have managed to keep you alive and well. A lot of that is you & God more than us, but when we speak to other adults they'll totally give us the credit. You're so smart and aware and happy that you force me to be the same. You've been so happy as of late that you've been getting the giggles like 10 minutes straight at a time which is the best. time. ever. And sometimes, you love something so much, you don't even laugh, you just squeal.

But the coolest thing to see is your kindness bloom. When your Daddy holds you, you'll touch his face softly and your face reads that you're doing it intentionally. You'll even do it to me after I feed you sometimes and look at me and then we have an "us moment". Those are my favorite. Before you know it, you'll be off to school and too cool to have many "us moments" so I cherish these.

Also, your balance is crazy good. The doctor says we shouldn't be surprised if you're walking by 10 months. I am in no way ready for that. But you've been giving us a run for our money because you now grab everything. Your blanket, my water bottle, the remote, Daddy's phone and of course, you want to eat it. It's a lot to deal with, but I'm so impressed by how fearless and inquisitive you are.

While you are the cutest thing in the world, you are also so very smart and strong and fearless, which makes you one of the coolest people I know already.

I love you,

Mommy
