Yeah. So on Monday - which was MLK Day - I totally forgot that I didn't have to work. I had freelancers come out and work and everything. Only to send them home. I was excited, though. Impromptu day off and it was gorgeous. Naturally, because my weekend schedule didn't allow me to shoot outfit posts for the blog, I text Kaye
and got to shooting. Except for when I met her, I wasn't quite prepared as I thought. Had everything, a few looks to shoot, grabbed some lunch, the camera...with NO battery. That's right. I was in such whirlwind to make sure that I got everything right, have everything that I need that one overlook set me back by an hour. I had to drive all the way back home for the battery and come back.
Luckily, she's awesome and understood. And while that was something I could've totally let upset me, I didn't. Sometimes you have to allow yourself to be human and get caught up in the whirlwind of your error to become better. If you decide to learn from it instead of become defeated by it, that perspective brings you closer to becoming better.
Besides, I had a fantastic jam session in the car on my way back. So good, that on my way back to shoot I got off the wrong exit. Yeah. It was that kind of day.
