Mattieologie: Deck Dreamin'

If you follow me on Snapchat (which you totally should, I’m getting better!), then you know that we recently just had our backyard cleared and hard the majority of the overgrown trees in the back cut down. We own about an acre of land, but in the last 6 years we’ve been in this house we haven’t had the chance to truly take advantage of our deck or backyard. With the clearing of the trees in the back, there’s so much light on our deck and in our house - and I love it. This month, Hubs will be getting the deck together (aka power washing and staining it) and then I’m gonna get to decorating. I want it to feel inviting while still being presentable, where our friends and family can enjoy laughs and a good time while adding to the aesthetic of our home. Hubs is an amazing cook, but isn’t the biggest fan of [the act of] grilling. I love BBQ, so I have to find a clever way to get a grill in the mix. I’d like to keep the look sophisticatedly neutral while incorporating color perfectly here and there. Can't wait to get to decorating!
