Today makes it the second Tuesday in a row that I've made it a "Mommy & Maizah" day. My grandmother (who typically watches her during the work day Monday through Friday) had a doctor's appointment today, so I am in full time Mommy mode. As she runs around the living room throwing around mail while giggling at "Let's Make A Deal" - she's tickled by Wayne Brady - I've probably stopped 5 times while writing this post to ensure she doesn't put yet another thing in her mouth. It's tough - especially because I'm pretty used to working from home uninterrupted (somewhat), but I wouldn't trade it for the world. She is my favorite, no matter how many times she licks the remote.
But the real hard part was when she woke up screaming at 6a this morning - mostly because she was hungry - and what is a 5 minute wait for the milk to warm up seemed like 2 hours as the crying ensued. Hubs can handle anything when it comes to parenting, but the incessant screaming is what sends him over the edge. Honestly, I can't blame him.
However, even though I'm fighting through my workaholic ways for an hour or so, on what I've deemed "Mommy and Maizah" day, I'm reminded how blessed I am to have a baby who is very independent and doesn't really cry unless something is wrong, a partner who is extremely hands on as parent and a maternal grandmother who lives less than 10 miles away + watches Babyologie for a fraction of the price that I would pay if she were in day care.
The weather is gorgeous today. This is totally an outfit I could wear on this mild 70 degree day. Maxi cardigans (or dusters) are my go to piece on winter days that are actually warm. It's a fantastic layering piece - it goes with anything in my opinion; jeans, skirts, dresses and more. And it's pretty work appropriate for whatever kind of job you may have.
If I'm being honest, I might wear this exact outfit today with flat boots. We've gotta make a grocery run to Whole Foods and then go on a lunch date. Should she take a lengthy nap, I'm gonna try to squeeze in video editing and meal planning as well. Hey, I believe in maximizing my "deposit" hours. (Shoutout to everyone who attended my free #WKNDpreneur webinar on Sunday.)
I can't wait to share all the goodness I learned and experienced from Create & Cultivate and ALT these past couple of weekends. Working on a vlog that I promised myself to get up sooner than later. Keep me prayed up.
