Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hosting the H&M store opening at Augusta Mall in Augusta, GA. I've never been to Augusta - it's only a 2 hour drive from Atlanta - so I was excited to go somewhere new. When you get asked to host an event - even with a really huge and known brand like H&M - you just hope everything goes well and people show up. The store didn't open until 12 noon so I arrived around 10:30 to get dressed and pick 5 people out of line to win an H&M top, bottom and accessory before the store opened to public. I traveled with Hubs and when we arrived we were pleased to see a few people outside in line. I figured, "Oh, nice. There's a few people here."
I got to wear some new pieces from H&M, I picked a dress (I can't deal with pants nowadays) and a white blazer that I know I'll get a lot of use out of once #Babyologie arrives. A white blazer is always necessary in your closet. I love the dijon colored dress I got not only because of the color but it works with sandals, pumps (I love the red suede ones I wore), booties or boots. It's an any season dress. More bang for your buck.
Once I was dressed, I got to chat it up with the wonderful folks in line. Everyone was super pumped that H&M was finally in Augusta and I've gotta say, Augusta folks are so sweet. I picked five winners from the line who used the #hmlovessummer hashtag on Twitter and H&M gave them some goodies and they no longer had to wait in line. I met the sweetest girls who were towards the front of the line and had been waiting there since 7am! Talk about dedication.
I always have a good time shopping and I've been an H&M shopper for years but it was quite impressive to see not only shoppers excited for the new store but also the staff who were dancing, smiling and making sure everyone's energy stayed up before the doors opened. It was indeed a good time.
