During the warmer months, I tend to wear a "head tie" - as Liberians would say - or head scarf a lot more often. Here in Atlanta it gets HOT and sometimes I just can't deal with hair. This is totally something I would wear to a festival or a day just hanging out with my girls. At the basis of it, it's essentially just a white t-shirt with jean shorts. But once you throw some prints into the mix, it turns into something more interesting, more specific, more real. It's not calculated, sort of like a jambalaya of pieces I like that I wanted to wear all at the same time. Sometimes, those are the best outfits. The ones that just come together.
I love this kimono from Bene Scarves - a company whose proceeds go towards the education of women in West Africa. Each piece is named after a girl that they help. This is the Felicia kimono/caftan. I love the colors and loved hearing her story. For more info, be sure to check out the Bene Scarves site.
