It's funny because when I moved to Atlanta about 9 years ago from NYC, I was devising the "ultimate" plan to move back to New York. I just couldn't get into Atlanta because I was so busy comparing it to NYC instead of enjoying it for what it was. About 5 years after living here, I started to really like and appreciate it. But when I visited Little 5 Points, that's when I truly started to love Atlanta.
Little 5 Points is like ATL's little gem. Only few no how to really appreciate it. There's fun bars, cute shops and great restaurants. It's where the artsy people go to release and those of us who are smart go to appreciate said releases. Whether you want to get some shopping at Bill Hallman done and have your fair share of fan-effin-tastic local pizza, it's a good time waiting to happen. And when the sun shines, that place flourishes. It's without pretentiousness of Buckhead or midtown and regardless of how many times you go there, it's always refreshing.
Also, it serves for great picture taking.
Should you visit Atlanta (especially in the spring or summer) you should definitely check it out.
