When I was young, I never really cared for tea. It was something in my mind thanks to TV and movies that "old ladies" would partake in. I guess I'm an old lady. Within the last year I've been indulging in tea more than ever. It helps relax me and detox as well. Overall, drinking tea has added some major benefits in my life including clearer skin, a flatter belly and better sleep.
It makes sense because being hydrated is one of those things we could all use more in our lives. And there are certain teas that help us specifically with the issues we're having - insomnia, PMS, acne, etc. There's a tea to conquer all of those things and I'm gonna share them with you today.
Here are 5 teas you should be drinking to feel & live better.
GREEN TEA: This is pretty much the holy grail of teas. It detoxes the crappy stuff you've been eating and increases your metabolism. It's great for eliminating bad breath (who knew?!) and lowers cholesterol. What many people do not know is how clutch green tea is for your oral health. It helps prevent cavities. Studies even show that green tea prevents dementia. And if you're looking for a tea to help you get great skin, green tea is it. My personal favorite is TAZO's Green Ginger tea. It has a hint of pear that is so perfect.
MINT TEA: If you're having stomach issues or reacting to allergies, mint tea is the way to go. It's a reliable remedy for an upset stomach and suppresses cravings. And in case you feel the sniffles coming on, mint tea is an excellent decongestant.
CHAMOMILLE TEA: The most soothing tea on this list (although mint tea is soothing, too). If you're dealing with insomnia, this is the tea for you. It's incredibly relaxing, so this tea is ideal to partake during PMS and also helpful if you deal with anxiety.
WHITE TEA: If you're looking to lose some lb's for the summer, this is the tea to go with. It prevents new fat cells from forming. The best part about white tea though is that is has the highest antioxidants than any other tea, which is great for lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. And if caffeine isn't for you, this is your cup of tea because it has noticeably low amounts of it. Plus, it's anti bacterial.
GINGER TEA: When it comes to tea, ginger has an impact of flavor. For those of you who get motion sickness or really bad PMS symptoms, ginger tea brings that all to a stop. Because of its antihistamine properties, this is the ideal tea to alleviate allergy symptoms. And whether you're trying to relieve stress or get your blood circulating, ginger tea is great for both.
